F*ck janteloven! Vi gjorde vår beste konsert noensinne. Og nå som jeg skal skrive litt om den fantastiske opplevelsen kjenner jeg faktisk et lite snev av forventningspress til meg selv. Det går nemlig ikke an å beskrive den følelsen jeg hadde i går. Den følelsen vi alle hadde i går. Det var så naturlig å vrikke hodet seigt og raskt, frem og tilbake mens kroppen bevegde seg til rytmene.

Gårsdagen begynte rolig. Satt meg på bussen. Skostredet var fult av mennesker som tydeligvis var glad for at våren er kommet. Det er jeg, òg – derfor dro jeg og et par gode venner ut i Nordnesparken. God mat og drikke, fotball og smilende ansikter så lang man kunne se. Jeg liker å være ærlig – jeg rynket litt på nesen da tanken slo meg om konsert senere på kvelden. Både fordi jeg godt kunne tenkt meg å være der jeg var resten av kvelden, og fordi vi allerede hadde spilt to konserter på Kvarteret tidligere denne uken. De andre gikk for å lete etter en ball. Der nede med Kiwien på Nordnes. Jeg tok turen til Andreas. Der satt et par folk. Fernando disket opp med god mat. Vi spiste til vi ble mett. Den rolige og latterfulle stemningen var verdsatt. Jeg begynte så smått med oppvasken. Deretter spaserte bort til Kvarteret. Uvisshet om tidspunkt forvirret oss litt. Slo i hjel tid på backstagen. Diskuterte hva vi kunne tenke oss å spille. Vi gikk ned da ting var noen lunde planlagt. Tok den vanlige runden i etasjene på Kvarteret. Vi sang og spilte i håp om at folk ville følge med. Da vi så kom ned igjen til scenen startet vi. Det bare skjedde. Kan i ettertid ikke begripe hvordan musikken vi spilte kun var improvisert. Galskap. Folkene er som Herkules. De kjenner ikke sin egen styrke. Musikalsk styrke i denne sammenhengen. Vi spilte to sett med konserter. Først ett sett klokken halv elleve. Og så kvart over tolv. Den første konserten gikk veldig bra – den andre var enda bedre. I og med at halv-elleve-konserten gikk av skaftet, må du nå ha fått et visst syn på hvordan den andre konserten gikk. Utrolig. Reggae og funk. Passet som stikkontakten i hullet. Publikum danset. Det var øyeblikk der jeg hoppet ned i publikum. Klappet og observerte nydelige kvinner. Herlig. Gikk opp igjen på scenen og gjorde det en gang til. For det er slik det henger sammen med ting man elsker. Man gjør det om og om igjen. Vi elsker å spille. Derfor spilte vi låt etter låt med like mye energi som vi la ned på forrige låt. Jeg måtte gå før vi var ferdig. Forsvant. Snek meg gjennom mengden av mennesker før jeg tilslutt fikk kavet meg til busstoppet. Klarte ikke slutte å smile. Både inne i meg og utenpå. Tok bussen hjem og satt på musikk. Skrudde den av. Den var for dårlig. Passet ikke inn i øyeblikket. Det er alltid slik etter en fantastisk jam. All musikk blir uinteressant. Tenkte at jeg ikke ville sovne. For når jeg da ville våkne opp igjen ville jeg kanskje ikke huske det like godt. Pipelyd i ørene. Smil om munnen.

Today we are playing at Kvarteret, Tegleverket. We have played there one time before. The funny thing is that we also are playing there tomorow. Today we’re going to meet 19.00 – I guess we are going on stage a little after seven. It’s going to be nice. Yesterday I was at AicH’s studio. I recorded myself on a newly made reggae-beat. AicH came back and enjoyed the sketch. Many other people from FRL and Bossa Family was also gathered later on.

As said, I am looking forward to play tonight. Nowadays we play around two concerts a week. Sometimes it gets too much, but we usually manage it. I like to lay at home listen to soulmusic while I drink my coffee, after a good dinner. This is my recepy for a good preparation before concert – and of course bring a lot of fruit to the jam. We need oil (aka fruit) to keep the jam up.

Soooo… if you are ready, we are ready… Like we always are.

It’s been a while since I wrote something interesting on this blog and my own. It’s been so many jams and gigs lately – and of course important school-stuff.

What have we done the last months? Hmm… We have been playing! That’s for shore. I have been recording some tracks at my homestudio. David Pavels is still working with his soloalbum that’s coming out 9/11 – I know! Strange date, huh? Haha. This forthcoming month is going to be hectic. On top of the band-gigs, I have booked some concerts for my solo-music. It’s going to be fun and I am looking forward to it! Yesterday we played at Vamoose – or at least some members of Bossa did. It went well. Me and Fernando was wild freestyling over the nice background music from David Pavels, Geir, Johannes, Sjur Paulo and Christian.  This person told me that some sweet jazz-music was going on at Hotel Norge. I don’t remember the name of the musicans, but I heard that they were real vets. Should of seen it! Damn… But anyway, we moved over to Vågen. The jam was on fire last night – believe me! I have never seen so many people at Vågen ever before. It was over welding. The jam was cool. AicH and Fernando did some smooth blues.. They got the blues! AicH impressed me with the freestyles while I was drumming at the bongos. A new band stepped up and played the bluesmusic while people were singing. They also impressed me! See you next time. Some people from the Jorddunst-festival came to talk with some of the Bossas. I think Ken and David Pavels settled a good deal for us. Actually I’m not going to Jorddunst – but I think the rest of the band is going!

I don’t have any pictures this time. Maybe next time. I only have words – and if that’s not good enough for you… read someone elses blog! Haha. Just flipping around.

Sorry for the delay of updates. The weather has been to good to be sitting inside looking at a computer. Now I’m sitting at  the school with a feeling that makes me want to go outside in the sunshine. But no.

Yeah! Maybe you remember the hip-hop-jam I arranged with Ole Petter. I got many goods of doing this for free and for the love for hip-hop. Now Ole Petter has booked Bossa Family to come play at 1880 next Friday. It’s going to be a hip-hop-cafè. Actually my friend Larsfunkel is supposed to make Texas chickenwings. I hope this works out!

I hanged out with the FRL-people. Me and AicH, Oppstig and Fernando did a freestyle-song. I had never been in the new studio at Nordnes before. It looked smashing nice! Many people were gathered and we had a good time.

At Saturday, the Easter-evening, I hanged out with a old friend of mine. That was before I met some other old friends. We watched a football-match and sat down at Vågen. We grabbed a cup of coffee and cacao, discussed and memorized old happenings. It was great! I hooked up with some members of the band. We played Ludo! The game you never get old enough to play. We also found out that this game is the reason for all war in the world. Shit a get you angry, man! Hahaha. Yeah, and then we moved our asses to Vågen again. We were straight chilling outside freestyling. I really appreciate all this new people I meet every day through the band. Damn, so many good people I’ve never met before.

Maybe you are thinking “Why the h*ll does Simon post a picture of some rare trees and don’t even mention it in the text?”. And of course I’m going to tell you the story about the picture.

We went for a trip on a mountain here in Bergen, called Fløyen. This mountain is great for walking and thinking thoughts. I see many tourists when I walk up there. Oh, now I might sound like I go there everyday and enjoys being a trip-human. But no, I’m not realy a trip-human – but maybe I will become one. When I walk on mountains I always get reminded by the Bob Marley song that goes like this: “Sun is shining. The weather is sleepy”. I don’t know what it is, but when I feel that something is laying in the air and is about to happen, I hear this song in my mind. It’s a nice, but strange feeling. The song also fits for days when you’re lazy and exhausted. Trust me!
